Spanish Language Specialist Job Description
Costa Verde International School is seeking a Spanish Language Specialist (SLS) beginning the 2017/18 school year for our new Spanish Language Intensive Program. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and organized educator with a passion for language instruction and program development.
The Spanish Language intensive program will serve 3rd through 9th grade students with Spanish language abilities below the Intermediate-mid level as determined by the AAPPL assessment. Students in this program will receive intensive daily Spanish language instruction either individually or in group settings as appropriate. (Program size will range from 5 to 20 students depending on enrollment). The SLS will cooperate with other teachers to organize daily learning opportunities in a variety of other classes (PE, art, math, science, etc.) to enhance language acquisition. The SSL will push-in to classes to support student language acquisition as necessary. The SSL will organize and execute culturally enriching field trips and excursions to promote and advance student language.
The successful candidate will be demonstrably advanced (reading, writing, and speaking) in both Spanish and English. Native Spanish speakers are preferred and strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of documented teaching and leadership experience. Must be able to positively communicate effectively to the students, staff, and families of many cultures.

Field Studies Specialist Job Description
Costa Verde International School is seeking a kindergarten through 9th grade Field Studies Specialist (FSS) beginning the 2017/18 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and organized educator with a passion for ecology, preservation, and community outreach.
The Field Studies Specialist will be responsible for the organization and execution of at least one 3 to 6 week “eco-project” per grade level per school year. Each project will culminate in a product or presentation (art, book, parent night, research paper, etc.).
Other pertinent Field Studies Specialist responsibilities:
Research, organize, and lead one or two eco-themed field trips per grade level per year linked to classroom learning.
Organization and leadership at least four beach and/or community clean-ups per year.
Maintenance and organization of school garden, compost, and recycling system.
Communicating to CVIS stakeholders the scope and accomplishments of the Field Studies program via email, Facebook, CVIS webpage, local press coverage, and family events.
Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will be demonstrably advanced (reading, writing, and speaking) in both Spanish and English. We encourage candidates with a strong background in earth science, conservation, and community organization to apply. Candidates with experience teaching children of various ages will be given preference. Candidates with multiple years living in Sayulita and the surrounding are preferred. The successful candidate must be able to positively communicate effectively to the students, staff, and families of many cultures.
