Chris Sullivan
DIRECTOR

Chris Sullivan comes to Costa Verde International School with 17 years of experience in education. He taught at several different grade levels from pre-school through college. He also served as an elementary school principal in both Oregon and Washington State. 

 He holds a baccalaureate degree in English/writing from Southern Oregon University, a masters degree from Eastern Oregon University (with endorsements in Literacy and Teaching  English to Speakers of Other Languages), and an administrator license from Portland State University.

In both administrative and instructional capacities, Chris connects with students using innovative science, art, and experiential outdoor curricula. He has spent his career developing effective mathematics, literacy, and language programs to best meet the needs of language learners. 

 In addition, Chris has provided hundreds of in need families with food, clothing, school supplies, and holiday gifts through organized collection efforts. He comes to CVIS with a strong background in grant writing, fundraising, and event coordination. 

Chris is excited to integrate his family in to both CVIS and the Sayulita community. His family includes his wife Meghan and their two boys (5 year old Ogden and 1 year old Eller) and “Judy the Dog.” Much of their family time is spent seeking adventure on the beach, exploring new foods, and enjoying art and writing projects. 

ERIKA RAMIREZ GAMERO
Elementary Head of School

Erika is from the state of Durango and holds a degree of English Language Teaching. She has over 9 years of experience teaching elementary school, but has also provided teacher trainings to educators. She has organized several international conferences in Durango for English teachers interested in developing their skills towards education.

Erika is married (5 years) with no children, yet. She considers herself a people person who loves to be in contact with friends, family and acquaintances.  She especially enjoys a good chat, and if it’s accompanied by a good cup of coffee then it’s even better!   Erika also enjoys traveling as it allows her not only to relax, but to gain a broader knowledge of people from all parts of the world. Erika considers herself open-minded, kindhearted, and easygoing.

Throughout her life Erika has always searched for a place to work where she would be able to challenge and to be challenged in order to develop as a better, well rounded professional and individual. Now that she has the opportunity to work at CVIS she is most certain that this is the place where she belongs.

Erika es del estado de Durango y tiene un título de Enseñanza del Idioma Inglés. Ella tiene más de 9 años de experiencia en la enseñanza de primaria, principalmente, pero también ha proporcionado la formación de docentes para educadores. Ella ha organizado varias conferencias internacionales en Durango para profesores de inglés interesados n desarrollar sus habilidades hacia la educación.

Erika está casada (5 años) y sin hijos. Ella se considera una persona que se involucra bien con los demás y le encanta estar en contacto con amigos, familiares y conocidos. Ella disfruta especialmente una buena charla, y si está acompañada de una buena taza de café, entonces es aún mejor! Erika también le gusta viajar, ya que le permite no sólo descansar sino obtener un conocimiento más amplio de personas de todas partes del mundo. Erika se considera de mente abierta, de buen corazón, y tolerante.

A lo largo de su vida Erika siempre ha buscado un lugar para trabajar donde ella sería capaz de desafiar y ser desafiada con el fin de desarrollarse mejor profesional e individualmente. Ahora que ella tiene la oportunidad de trabajar en CVIS ella está más segura de que este es el lugar donde pertenece.
